Frequently Asked Questions
I am looking for a cleaner that will work well with your Synthetic All. The synthetic all is being used to grind anodized aluminum in a thru feed grinder. We need a cleaner that can be used to flush the machine out between coolant changes.
The best machine cleaner for an aluminum grinding application is our ChemWorld Clean A186Please note this is NOT to clean aluminum itself, but just aluminum residue from grinder. It will help to lightly dissolve build-up in a steel or stainless steel machine that contains aluminium grinding swarf.
I am searching for coolant for a surface grinding machine. It will be used with carbon and stainless steel What do you suggest?
If it was just steel, we would have a more light-duty product in mind, but when you do stainless steel high lubrication is required. The best option we carry is our Synthetic All.
Which of your Coolants do you recommend for grinding anodized aluminum?
To grind aluminum, you need a lot of polymer and wetter so you don’t ‘burn’ the metal (turn it darker). Too much polymer and your settling rate (time it takes to sink the microscopic metal particles) suffers. It is a fine line. Our Chemworld Synthetic All will not allow burning (when used at a proper concentration) and historically has more than enough wetter and surfactant to assist in flushing. As long as the tank is large enough, it should settle enough to avoid pumping the ‘dirty’ fluid back up to the process area. Pumping dirty fluid up can lead to scratching the metal, and, loading up your grinding wheels.
