M Alkalinity Test Kits

1. Fill the mixing bottle with the water to be tested to the 25 mL etched mark.
2. Add 6 drops of Methyl Purple Indicator Solution and mix.
3. If the water sample turns purple, free mineral acids are present, the "M" reading is reported as zero.
4. If the water sample turns green, alkalinity is present and continue the test.
5. Add the sulfuric acid titrating solution, drop by drop, swirling the vial until the sample turns purple.
6. Multiple the drop count by the drop factor for results.
