What is a By-Pass Chemical Feeder?
Neptune bypass feeders have two designs, Neptune VTF and Neptune DBF chemical feeders. Both products are used to add chemicals to boilers and chiller closed loop systems. These products are often over looked on closed loop system designs. Sizes of the units range from 2 to 12 gallons in size. For larger system, you may choose to purchase a larger feeder to reduce the number of times chemical needs to be initially added into the system.

What is a Filter Feeder?
A Filter Feeder or Cartridge Feeder is a complete filter and by-pass chemical feeder in one unit. This reduces equipment needs. Have other questions on filtering water. Check out the article on process cooling.

Do I need a Chemical By-Pass Feeder?
If you have a close loop chemical a by pass feeder or pot feeder should be installed so chemical can be added to the system. Chemicals are required to reduce corrosion rates or to control bacteria growth. Without a chemical feeder high pressure pumps will be required to inject the chemical into the system.

What chemicals can added to the By-Pass Feeder?
Both Liquids and powders can be added to the Feeder.

What size filter bags come with the VTF/DBF and FTF filter feeders?
The VTF/DBF Neptune filter feeders are designed to use only one size Neptune PAC6 bag. The FTF filter feeder units are designed to use four different size filter bags, which are 1, 5, 20, and 50 micron sized Neptune filter bags.
